Welcome to Downtown Hobbs
commerce come alive!

Who IS DIA?
DIA Hobbs (Downtown Improvement Association) was born from a shared vision: to revitalize the heart of Hobbs and reimagine Downtown as a vibrant hub for retail, dining, and community activity. In 2022, a community-wide assessment revealed strong public support for transforming Downtown Hobbs into a dynamic destination—a place where locals and visitors alike could gather, shop, eat, and enjoy.
With a solid foundation of existing structures and the area’s untapped potential, the time was right for action. The JF Maddox Foundation provided crucial startup funding to launch the effort, enabling the formation of a dedicated board and the hiring of professional staff to lead the initiative.

Today, DIA Hobbs is focused on driving meaningful change, supporting local businesses, and fostering growth that reflects the spirit and aspirations of the Hobbs community.

See It. Believe It. Build It.
We envision Downtown Hobbs as a place where people gather, connect, and build a stronger community. It’s where businesses thrive, relationships grow, and investment creates new opportunities for everyone.

This is Our Mission
The Mission of DIA is to revitalize Downtown Hobbs by organizing events that bring people together, connect property owners with resources to enhance their buildings, and foster a shared vision for the area. We work to improve downtown’s aesthetics, attract investment, and collaborate with municipal and community partners to create a vibrant and thriving destination for businesses, residents, and visitors.
The People Who
Make DIA Possible
Revitalizing Downtown Hobbs is a community-driven effort powered by collaboration, vision, and commitment. At the heart of this transformation is a dedicated team of local leaders, partners, and residents working together to bring new life to the center of our city.
And Most Importantly, the Good People of Hobbs
These are the residents, business owners, and community leaders who have shaped every step of this journey. Through surveys, workshops, events, and ongoing engagement, the community has consistently voiced a clear message: Downtown Hobbs matters. Their continued input and support remain pivotal in steering revitalization efforts in a direction that reflects the city’s unique character and spirit.
